The Sidney and Ruth Lapidus Professor of History at Princeton University, Sean Wilentz won the Bancroft Prize in 2006 and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for his book, The Rise of American Democracy: Jefferson to Lincoln. His books include The Age Of Reagan: A History and Chants Democratic. He writes regularly for The New Republic, writing voluminously about history, politics, music and the arts. He is married to University of Chicago historian Christine Stansell.
