Professor of Greek history at the University of Cambridge, Paul Cartledge is the author of many books, including Thermopylae: The Battle that Changed the World, Alexander the Great, The Greeks: Crucible of Civilization and The Spartans, which was the subject of a PBS documentary. He was academic consultant to the BBC and PBS for the series “The Greeks: Crucible of Civilization.”
