"Victor threw the still lit but clearly unbroken bottle at the guy in the devil mask, hitting him in the back of the head. The bottle bounced off the devil's head and smashed against my driver's side door. The devil staggered, and instinctively pulled the mask off. Maybe he couldn't breathe, or maybe he went to feel for blood, or maybe he just wasn't thinking. Whatever the reason, the mask was only off for a second, before being yanked back over the guy's head. He turned and looked directly at me, and then he ran across the street and disappeared into the alley between two buildings.
The bottle instantly ignited when it hit my car, and flames raced along the side and the undercarriage of the Escape.…
‘Why me?’ I shrieked. ‘Why does this always happen to me? …’
‘You got bad car karma,’ Lula said. ‘But at least you're lucky at love.’ "
Stephanie Plum was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The sole witness to a gang robbery, the savvy bounty hunter has become the hunted, as a killer known as Junkman seeks to cash in on the contract on her life.

I got hooked on these books after reading the first three and I am now halfway through number eleven. They are enjoyable, fast reads. This one, however, just didn't do it for me. I had a little trouble getting through it, even found myself skipping over a few parts. The ending was a fun surprise! I know there are now nineteen in the series and I'm sure I will read them all, but I do think eventually the series will need to come to a satisfying conclusion. Perhaps with number 20??

Ten Big Ones lives up to Janet's reputation as a first class author of mystery. I am in the process of collecting all of her books. When I get to be Grandma Mazur's age I hope to be just as feisty as she is.

Janet Evanovich has a great series going here. Love them. Although I am from Trenton some of her streets are not the same as in Trenton. I absolutly can't get enough of them..
Keep them coming Janet. Will you ever let us know who Steph will end up with? Joe?? Ranger??
